Me, Myself and Iz?
· How does this project continue the theme ‘Me, myself & I’?
As “Me myself and I” was a project based on self exploration I wanted to carry on this theme into myself initiated project. I like the idea of being able to leave university and already have the basic foundations for a career as an artist, this project was intended to help me further develop my sudaname” iz?” and find ways of promoting myself and my artwork.
· Describe your outcome – in terms of materials, methods, themes, content.
Throughout the project I tried really hard to play with different mediums and materials, finding different ways of displaying and promoting my work. I researched and developed a wide range of outcomes; postcards,posters,tshirts,flyers etc and found ways of producing these outcomes, whether professionally printed or handmade. I felt throughout this project I really found a more developed personal style, I feel as if my pieces can distinctly be mine. I also started to take myself more seriously as a professional artist/illustrator and began working on/researching ways of promoting myself online and on my pieces.
What range of creative communication techniques have been explored?
I have produced a wide range of outcomes; postcards, posters, beer mats, pieces, murals etc all intended to self promote myself. These out comes can have been made to give away so will engage interest as their free. Good way to get people interested and communicate what I’m about as an artist.
How have you visually communicated your ideas through your outcome?
I have placed all my little outcomes into one big final outcome, the reason behind this was to produce a little Iz? Promotional box, complete with an index of contents. I thought this would be a really cool way to package and promote my work, it would also be a cool way to send work to clients, potential employers, shops or even other artists in the future. Each box with a slightly individual twist. Something I can work on continuously to achieve a more professional level.
What skills have been developed and explored through this outcome?
Throughout this unit I feel I have really developed my use of materials and drawing techniques, this has considerably helped develop my style and I’ve started producing a lot more a lot more time effectively. My digital skills have also improved since I purchased Photoshop, from this I started printing work I had developed, at a professional printers and so my knowledge of the printing industry and prices etc has also helped me understand what I can do with my budget.
